hi, I've got a samsung netbook blackjack that's running windows7, and NVDA. for some wierd reason ever since i've installed a USB mick it's started to lock up almost all the time. it used to be that I could go to task manager and quit out of NVDA and the issue would be resolved but for some strange reason it has gotten to the point where it's starting to do it a lot more than normal. it's like I can't even use it now without something like a USB headset or something plugged in. I've thought about installing the mute program to see if that would fix anything but I wasn't sure if it was win7 compatible. the only thing that seems to work sometimes for me to have speach is the USB headset, but i'd much rather have speakers for that instead. it seems that's the only thing I can think of that can stop this locking up deal, if anyone can think of others poast away.
thanks,
zack
have you checked for an update to nvda or the drivers for your headset .. also try setting the netbook speakers to default in control pannel so it doesn't try to switch over to the usb speaker automatically which is probably what is freaking out nvda
well, I took it back to the place where we got it from and they uninstalled the softwhere that the USB hedset came with and even updated the soundcard driver and when I just recently installed NVDA back on to the netbook it locked up again after not even a minut or so. all I was trying to do was install updates to win7 and right in the middle of trying to check them the damn thing just locked up again. so I have no idea.
If it happened after you installed NVDA, then NVDA must be conflicting with something.
well, I don't have to worry about that problem anymore, becuase I was able to get myself a new netbook, an ausust netbook running xp home with sp3. the problem with the other one could have been beucase of 1 or 2 things. 1, there could have been something wrong with the motherbords soundbord or something, or, it could have been an o s problem that it was having and there for makeing n v d A crash and locking up the hole soundcard. so anyway, now that I have this new netbook running xp, i'm doing fine now. I love it. got a hundred and 60 gig hard drive in here. already came with skype installed, everything was set to classic view, all I had to do was install N V D A and things are going well here. becuase we had the protection plan for the other one, I was able to get this one in exchange for the other one. not only that but I baught myself a chillpad for the laptop since that thing is having overheating issues. so in all all I had to do was pay 21 bucks and not 271 for the netbook. we got the same protection plan on this one so if I ever need to have something exchanged for this one we can do it again. smile
